Balochistan, Pakistan, to Benefit from Natural Gas Pipeline
With winter quickly approaching the Pakistani Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal Khan said the 30 km Jacobabad-Shikarpur gas pipeline would be completed soon and suggested it would be done before this year's winter sets in. The minister directed the officials concerned of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to expedite the work on the pipeline so that consumers could get benefit of gas in the upcoming winter season. Khan said that the distribution of gas had been extended in many parts of Balochistan.
The transmission network from Kalaat to Mastung, Awaraan LPG plant, Gwadar, Hub and Quetta, Qilla Abdullah and Zargoon projects have also been made to improve the gas supply there soon as well. He says that this improvement will go a long way to reduce the pervasive sense in Balochistan that it does not benefit in equal measure from state support.
