In the technical area of the energy industry, the business processes have been adapted to the issues of planning, construction and operation. The product development of information technology for Asset Management has also been supported by technologies to support construction activities and maintenance using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In all process steps, considerable amounts of digital data have been created and fed into the appropriate systems and processes. Depending on the strategic importance, this has been successfully finished and has resulted in data sets that are subject for process-specific business decisions and analysis.

The new addressing of a „Earth Intelligence” results from the needs of a digitized copy of the real world based on the so-called “Digital Twin” to create the technical baseline for resilience planning.
