JULY 11, 1933 – JUNE 11, 2025

Robert “Bob” Eiber was called home on June 11, 2025, at the age of 91 in Columbus, Ohio. Born July 11, 1933, in Cleveland to Harry and Grace Eiber, Bob lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and quiet accomplishment.

He will be deeply missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known for his positivity and easygoing nature, Bob carried a gentle humor and steady patience that endeared him to everyone who knew him—qualities especially appreciated during his 65-year marriage to his spirited wife, Carol. He treasured time with family, often sharing laughter, wisdom, and a glass of wine, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and humility for his children and grandchildren.

Bob embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. An avid sailor, skier, and cyclist, he remained active well into his nineties, frequently seen riding tandem bikes with Carol around Columbus. A faithful member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church and a quiet Ohio State supporter, he lived with joy, grace, and strong faith knowing his final destination.

A graduate of Euclid High School and Case Institute of Technology, Bob built a distinguished career as a pipeline research engineer at Battelle Memorial Institute. Over several decades, he contributed significantly to advances in testing methods and authored numerous technical papers. Even after retirement, he continued consulting worldwide as a respected pipeline failure expert, always modest about his achievements. For Bob, work was never about recognition—it was about curiosity, contribution, and the adventure along the way.

He was preceded in death by his sister Janet Yaroma and grandson Alexander Eiber Arldt, and is survived by his beloved wife Carol, his children Jeff and Jill, and his cherished grandchildren Calvin, Emery, and Abby.
