BARTHAUER presents new solutions for the oil and gas industry at Pipeline Technology Conference in Berlin

BARTHAUER is attending the 11th Pipeline Technology Conference (ptc) in Berlin - Europe’s leading platform for oil and gas sector technologies. In the course of the exhibition, the Braunschweig-based software company is presenting the new information system for the oil and gas industry: BaSYS PIMS. BARTHAUER is actively participating in the conference with a presentation as well.

“There are many reasons to take part in the ptc,” explains Anis Saad, Managing Director of Barthauer Software GmbH. “This trade show is an important platform for presenting our products,” says Saad. He is supported by Nadeem Sait, CEO of BSS Technologies, a leading international company in the field of cathodic corrosion protection and a long-time partner of Barthauer Software GmbH. “With the know-how of BSS Technologies, we are able to develop and integrate specialised technical software applications in the field of pipeline integrity management as well as active and passive corrosion protection.”

In addition to established products for the water and wastewater sectors, BARTHAUER is also presenting new solutions for the oil and gas industry such as the BaSYS PIMS information system. It supports all process steps for the planning, administration, operation and maintenance of pipelines.

All relevant data are administered in the database. The database-driven pipeline register permits the interactive recording and documenting of pipelines through a graphical interface. Data can be viewed and output in many different forms. Thanks to the BARTHAUER multi-platform concept that is unique the world over, the BARTHAUER products can be integrated into all GIS/CAD systems.

Anis Saad considers the opportunity to identify and talk to new cooperation partners another important reason to attend the conference. “Collaboration with other innovative companies plays an important role in addition to our own software development. It is the only way to bundle competencies and create efficient new solutions,” Saad explains.

BARTHAUER is actively contributing to the Pipe and Sewer Conference (PASC), which is being held in parallel, with a presentation as well. Malte Martin, a long-term employee of Barthauer Software GmbH, is reporting on the benefits of the integrated administration of infrastructure systems in the “Asset Management” session. Municipal infrastructure management has been increasingly based on more or less complex IT systems to date. However, rising demand for the conservation of resources and the reduction of costs is leading to a shift in favour of integrated data management. This is supported by the joint, central administration of data for the above and below-ground infrastructure. Data can be updated directly and made available to various jurisdictions with corresponding access rights. Precise coordination and significant time savings in rehabilitation design and the execution of construction measures in multiple technical fields are for example possible on this basis. Malte Martin: “In view of the tremendous economic losses caused by poorly coordinated construction measures on infrastructure systems and the resulting traffic congestion, there is no question that there is a need for action here. Integrated data administration can help improve the situation and produce a profit. My presentation describes how to accomplish this.” Malte Martin will be giving his presentation on 24 May 2016 between 9:00 am and 10:15 am.
