A veteran energy infrastructure entrepreneur has launched a new venture aimed at commercializing advanced pipeline isolation and intervention technologies, marking a significant step forward for midstream operational safety and efficiency.

Mark Olson, a longtime industry leader with more than 35 years of experience, is heading a group of investors and energy professionals in the acquisition of a startup specializing in smart plugging technology.

Announced on June 11, 2026, the newly formed company will focus on helping onshore liquid and gas pipeline operators perform safe, efficient isolations during critical repair, maintenance, and construction activities, all while minimizing costly operational disruptions.

The venture represents Olson’s latest effort to drive innovation across the pipeline sector. He previously founded Cornerstone Pipeline Inspection Group and ENTEGRA, a prominent pipeline integrity services provider that was acquired by NDT Global in 2025.

With this new initiative, Olson is shifting focus from pipeline inspection to active intervention, addressing a critical market demand for smarter, more reliable infrastructure management tools.

“I’ve dedicated my career to making pipelines better and helping operators better understand the condition of their assets,” Olson said.
