For the first time in recent memory, Nigeria achieved 100% crude oil pipeline availability throughout June, Bayo Ojulari, group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, announced Tuesday.

Speaking at the 24th NOG Energy Week, Ojulari attributed the significant milestone to comprehensive, industry-wide security interventions spearheaded by the NNPC. This achievement has already led to a substantial increase in the nation's crude oil production.

Ojulari urged increased investment in the oil sector to sustain and further boost production. He highlighted NNPC's consistent fulfillment of its cash-call obligations to joint venture operations, marking a positive shift in its financial narrative.

The NNPC boss also noted that the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021) has strategically empowered NNPC to lead in financing critical projects within the industry.

In another major development, Ojulari confirmed the successful crossing of the River Niger by the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline.

This crucial $2.8 million project, which had faced years of delays, achieved the crossing on June 26, as previously announced by Oilserv Limited. Ojulari credited effective contract reengineering and collaborative industry efforts for this breakthrough.

Looking ahead to NOG2025, Ojulari expressed his vision for the conference to transition from a forum primarily for discussions to a platform for celebrating tangible achievements and finalizing significant investment deals.
