Measurement and inspection technology specialist – Optical Metrology Services (OMS) – has chosen ptc Berlin to launch its revolutionary pipe bevel measurement tool. Delivering improved weld quality and superior pipeline integrity, Bevel 360 will provide welding contractors with new insights and understanding of bevel geometry at a time when cost pressures and process efficiencies, especially in the oil and gas sector, are paramount.

Undertaking more than 1,000 scans in under 30 seconds, the tool is capable of measuring pipe diameters ranging from 6” to 48” with a maximum pipe wall thickness of 45mm. The Bevel 360 is easily deployed into the pipe end by a single operator and is flexible enough to be utilised across a wide range of projects. Running off a standard 110-240 VAC system (with RCD), the tool is supplied with a tough case, making transportation simple.

The state-of-the-art tool sets new standards for bevel measurement and will be launched at the Pipeline Technology Conference (OMS, Stand 1, ptc Berlin, 23-25 May 2016).
