Gas Pipelines Target of Russia's War In Ukraine

The increasingly long and protracted Russian war of aggression in Ukraine entered a new phase this past week when Russian shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region of eastern Ukraine damaged a gas pipeline that fed 17 Gas Distribution Stations (GDS) and 100 thousand consumers in Melitopol, Energodard, Dniprorudne, and other towns.

"The Problem Is Not Gas. The Problem is Not Enough Pipelines."

"There is actually a surplus of natural gas" distributed around the world, says Tagesschau, a German national and international television news service produced by the editorial staff of ARD-aktuell on behalf of the German public-service television network ARD.  The problem is a simple one ~ we can't get to the gas, as gas, in contrast to oil, is difficult to transport.

Nord Stream 1 Shuts Down ~ Canada to Send Repaired Turbine

Russian Court Orders Halt to Caspian Oil Pipeline, but Exports Still Flow

A Russian court has ordered the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), one of the world’s largest pipelines that take oil from Kazakhstan to the Black Sea, to suspend its activities for 30 days, adding to global concern over oil supplies.

Whither Nord Stream 1? Russian Gas Deliveries In The Fog Of War

From 11 - 21 July this year the Nord Stream 1 will undergo its annual inspection.  For this work, Gazprom, Nord Stream's operator, will stop transmitting gas through the line.  In past years these inspections went off without a hitch.  Not so in 2022.

Kinder Morgan To Expand Permian Basin Highway Pipeline

Against a backdrop of rising demand for natural gas across Europe (as well as a not irrational fear that all gas flows from Russia may be stop in the near future), Kinder Morgan, the American pipeline operator, has indicated that it intends to underwrite the expansion of the 689-km natural gas pipeline that brings natural gas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to export hubs around Houston.

G7 Leaders Closer to Propose Price Cap on Oil and Gas from Russian Pipelines

The Group of Seven leaders, which met in Schloss Elmaus, Germany, agreed to explore a price cap on the Russian oil and pipeline gas to increase pressure on the Russian regime by slashing its revenues while reducing inflationary pressure in the west.

Hydrogen Pipelines: the Netherlands "Puts Its Money Where Its Mouth Is."

With an ample investment of 750 million euros from the Dutch government, Gasunie, the Netherland's gas network operator, has been tasked with managing and operating a national hydrogen transportation network.

Parts of the network are due to be completed by 2026.

Finland Determined To Build New National Network of Hydrogen Pipelines

Finland intends to construct and operate a national hydrogen transmission network and link this infrastructure to other countries in the Baltic Sea region.

This advanced energy network will help reduce carbon emissions and bolster the long-term security of Finland's energy supplies following its decision to stop using Russian gas.
