The venerable Druzhba pipeline, transporting oil some 4000-km from the northeastern part of European Russia to multiple countries in eastern Europe, sprung a leak in Poland last week which was mended within days.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said late last week that a big section of the damaged Nord Stream 1 & 2 gas pipelines would need to be replaced.

"Experts say that in order to restore work after such a terrorist act, it is necessary to actually cut off a very large piece of pipe, at a great distance, and in fact build a new section on this section," Miller told a Russian TV station.

East Timor president Jose Ramos-Horta On Wednesday, September 7, 2020, expressed confidence in Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and China as potential investors in the long-delayed gas project in the waters between East Timor and Australia, Reuters reported.
