SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad Secures $127 Million Contract to Enter Europe with a Pipeline Project

Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad has won a major contract to construct the Transanatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project. Worth 510 Malaysian Ringgit, or $127 million, SapuraKencana makes its entry into Europe with one of the largest pipeline construction projects to date. The offshore section of TANAP will be stretched 18 km across the Canakkale Strait.

The Army Corps of Engineers Grants Final Permits for Bakken Pipeline Project

The controversial 1830 km, 30 inch diameter Bakken oil pipeline has at long last gotten a green light, as The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers granted final permits for the project on July 26. It was the final regulatory hurdle for the project, which received other necessary permits by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Iowa Utilities Board earlier this year.

Enbridge, Marathon Petroleum agree to spend $2-billion for Bakken pipeline stake

Calgary-based Enbridge Inc. and partner companies have agreed to buy about 37 per cent of the Bakken pipeline project from Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. and Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P.

Eastring Pipeline Memorandum Signed by Slovakia and Bulgaria Energy Ministers

European Union Confirms Supporting the Balticconnector Gas Pipeline Project between Finland and Estonia

On Friday, July 15, the European Union Member States confirm their support for the proposal of important European energy infrastructure projects worth €263 million by the European Commission. In the gas sector, the European grants will cover the construction of the Balticconnector pipeline (EU support €187.5 million). It is the first gas pipeline linking Estonia to Finland.

Odessa-Brody Pipeline Project to be Revived

On July 14, the Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan Pyotr Poroshenko and Ilkham Aliyev revealed in a joint press conference that they are interested in implementing the Odessa-Brody pipeline project. In 2001, this pipeline was constructed for connecting Brody in the Lvov Region and Odessa on the Black Sea. However, the pipeline project has not been used often, since its construction.

Shawcor Grabs Conditional Contract for the Tuxpan Gas Pipeline Project’s Pipe Coating Services

The Mexican company Infraestructura Marina del Golfo (IMG) has offered a conditional contract to the pipe coating group of Shawcor Ltd. for providing pipeline coating solutions to the Tuxpan gas pipeline project. The conditional contract is worth approximately C$ 300 million.

Trans Adriatic Pipeline Project to get 78,000 Metric Tons Steel Product Supply by JFE

JFE Steel Corporation made an announcement on July 08 that it will supply major steel materials for the completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project. The unincorporated consortium of Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. (MISI) and Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry S.A. (CPW) won the contract for this project.

Kinder Morgan gets Partner in the Utopia Pipeline Project, Sells 50% Equity to Riverstone

On June 28, Kinder Morgan, Inc. made a formal announcement that they are selling 50% equity interest of the Utopia pipeline project to the Riverstone Investment Group (LLC). To acquire the rights to become a partner of the project, Riverstone has to make an upfront cash payment to Kinder Morgan.

Two UK firms have been awarded the world’s biggest fiber distributed sensing project to protect and monitor the 1,850km TANAP pipeline project

OptaSense, a UK based worldwide leader in Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) and its partner Optilan, a giant company in the world of communications and security systems provision, were awarded the contract running into $30 million early this year. As of now, the project is now entering the phase of equipment delivery.

Spectra Energy and TransCanada Team Up to Build a 1070-km Gas Pipeline From Texas to Mexico

Spectra Energy and TransCanada have been awarded a $3.6 billion contract from the Mexican government to build a 1070-km natural gas pipeline from Corpus Christi to the port city of Tuxpan on the Gulf of Mexico. The pipeline, carrying shale gas from the Eagle Ford rock formation, will ultimately connect with Mexican power plants to help meet the country's growing demand for energy.
