Siemens AG has signed an unprecedented long-term service contract running 18 years with Dolphin Energy, a UAE-based company responsible for operations, maintenance and managing the UAE gas network, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The network comprises the Taweelah Receiving Facility (TRF), the Eastern Gas Distribution System (EGDS), the Al Ain-Fujairah Pipeline and the Taweelah-Fujairah Pipeline, transporting gas subsea from Qatar's North Field to customers in the UAE and Oman.

For the company's Dolphin Gas Project in Qatar, Siemens will provide service and maintenance for nine aero-derivative gas turbines from former Rolls-Royce Energy and the related nine Dresser-Rand compressors. Siemens acquired Rolls-Royce Energy and Dresser Rand last year.

"This order impressively underscores that we are on the right path with our acquisitions of Rolls-Royce Energy and Dresser-Rand. And we're gaining speed," Lisa Davis, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and responsible for the Divisions Power and Gas, Wind Power and Renewables and Power Generation Services said.

Through the acquisitions of Rolls-Royce Energy and Dresser-Rand, Siemens has increased its installed base six times to more than 120,000 units of gas turbines, steam turbines and compressors. "Together, we not only have the biggest installed fleet in the industry worldwide, we are now also able to offer our customers from oil and gas and from industry a unique range of services – which opens up great opportunities," Davis said.
