Origin Energy, an Australian energy company located in Sydney, has selected the Wood Group to provide detailed engineering for the onshore pipelines of the Halladale, Black Watch & Speculant (HBWS) Natural Gas Project in South West Victoria (Australia).

The scope of work of the $1 million contract will include the detailed design of onshore raw gas and Mono-Ethylene Glycol (MEG) pipelines from well pad to an existing Otway Gas Plant. As the HBWS gas fields are located close to sensitive marine environments extended reach drilling (ERD) techniques will be used from onshore locations and connected back to the gas plant.

Bob MacDonald, CEO of Wood Group Kenny, said: “We are pleased to provide our onshore pipeline design expertise for this important energy project for the State of Victoria. The contract for HBWS builds on our strong relationship with Origin Energy in the region, and nationally, where we continue to provide engineering services in support of both existing assets and new projects.”
