REN Looking to Adapt Its 1375-km Pipeline Network To Carry Green Hydrogen

In a move that could ease the way for Europe's transition to hydrogen as a fuel source, Portugal's REN has started adapting its high-pressure natural gas grid to allow it to carry an up to 10% share of green hydrogen as early this year, the company said last week.

Israel's Growing Gas Reserves And Prospective Subsea Pipeline Development

Israel's abundant natural gas reserves, located in the eastern Mediterranean, have grown by 40% over the past decade due to increased drilling and exploration activities, an industry report said.

Gas production is carried out by four wells connected by two 18-inch, 73-mile subsea tiebacks to a natural gas processing platform located 10 km offshore Dor, Israel.

Cyprus Presents New Pipeline Plan For Transporting Med Gas To Europe

A new centrist government in Cyprus has fundamentally revised plans for bringing Mediterranean natural gas to Europe.

As relayed by Reuters, rather than the 2,000 km EastMed pipeline to continental Europe, the new government is proposing a much shorter one linking Cyprus to fields off the coast of Israel. Once in Cyprus, the gas could be converted to LNG and shipped to Europe.
