Capabilities, Technical-Economical Problems & Development Plans of the Iranian Pipeline Industry

105 years ago (in 1911), the first pipeline in Middle East was completed in Iran by Charlie Richi to move crude oil from Masjed Soleiman to Abadan. From 1911 to the present, the Iranian pipeline industry has expanded its huge network and also improved in the technical and engineering aspects of pipeline operations.

TransCanada's Keystone Pipeline has received the green light from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials and Safety Administration (PHMSA) to resume operations at reduced pressure, after a discovered leak nearly two weeks ago forced the company to shut the pipeline down.

Turkish Stream Sequel: The Southern Gas Pipeline Option to Europe Lives

With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Gazprom, Edison SpA and DEPA SA for gas deliveries across the Black Sea from Russia to Greece and ultimately Italy, Russia has signaled its interest in keeping the southern gas route option alive.

Major Peruvian Crude Oil Pipeline Breaks Spoil the Drinking Water of Local Native Communities

Two ruptures in Petroperu's main oil pipeline have spilled some 3000 barrels of crude into the Chiriaco and Morona rivers in northwestern Peru, contaminating the water supply of at least eight native Achuar communities which rely on the rivers for this purpose.

The pipeline, which normally transports 5000 - 6000 bpd, has ceased operation.
