One of the more conspicuous developments since American President Donald Trump met with North Korea's Kim Jong Un earlier this month in Singapore has nothing to do with denuclearization but with the potential construction of a gas pipeline through North Korea and into the South. Discussions have begun to this end with Gazprom, which would deliver the gas and help in constructing the pipeline.

The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) has issued an updated 2016 infrastructure report which depicts the massive changes in store for energy infrastructure in the United States and Canada. INGAA Foundation President Don Santa says "while we are now in the midst of a remarkable expansion of the pipeline network ... there will remain a need for new pipeline infrastructure.

Russian Edition of Pipeline Technology Journal agreed

The international publishers EITEP (based in Germany) and Radiofront (based in Russia) have agreed to implement a Russian-speaking edition of the globally recognized Pipeline Technology Journal (ptj). Both companies are committed to meet the high demand for top-class pipeline technology case-studies, technical articles and current international industry news in Russia.

New Gas Pipelines Planned for Australia

Australia is embarking on a major $140 million infrastructure project, building a gas processing facility and a 60-km pipeline for the growing domestic market. It will connect Senex’s Atlas gas field in the Surat Basin in south-east Queensland to Jemena’s existing Darling Downs pipeline and Australia’s largest single gas hub – the Wallumbilla gas hub.

Canadian Government Buys Trans Mountain Expansion Project

Canada's government is intervening in the conflict over the construction of Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain Expansion Project with an unusual decision. To ensure the construction of the controversial pipeline, it is purchasing the whole project and the infrastructure needed to expand the pipeline from Kinder Morgan for 4.5 billion Canadian dollars (about 3 billion euros).

Start of construction on German landing point for Nord Stream 2

Construction work has begun on the controversial Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline at Lubmin, Germany's landing point. According to a spokesman for the Gazprom subsidiary, civil engineering and foundation work for the gas receiving station and the plant building started on an area of six hectares.

German gas TSOs plan to invest €7 billion for natural gas pipelines until 2028

The German gas transmission system operators (TSOs) have submitted their draft for a Gas Network Development Plan in Germany. The document sets out the TSOs’ detailed plans for the future development of the German network to ensure a secure supply of natural gas in the period to 2028.
