Raging Ecuadorian River Threatens The Future Of Pipelines And A Power Plant

In the foothills of Ecuador's 3562 m Reventador volcano, workers are hard at work developing a new oil export pipeline route. This is because the existing pipeline route is under threat from the ongoing constant threat from the violent erosion of the Coca River after the 130-meter (426-ft) San Rafael waterfall collapsed on Feb. 2, 2020.

New Ambitious Plans By GAIL India To Meet Paris Accord Targets

As part of India’s efforts to meet its various Paris Accord targets, its state-owned energy company and gas pipeline operator has announced ambitious plans to develop at least 1 GW in renewable power. In addition, it will invest in developing new biogas and ethanol plants as part of its green investment plans.

Massive gas leak in the Gulf of Mexico

A blaze on the sea surface of the Gulf of Mexico off Campeche was detected, early Friday morning. It looked like a large "eye of fire" according to Mexico's state oil company Pemex.

Television pictures showed orange flames resembling molten lava eye of fire not far from an offshore Pemex oil platform.

DNV secures CCS pipeline materials study for Neptune Energy in the North Sea

DNV is an international accredited registrar and classification society headquartered in Høvik, Norway, has been awarded the contract for the carbon capture and storage (CCS) pipeline materials study by Rotterdam based Neptune Energy Netherlands to evaluate the fracture and appropriateness of offshore pipelines for re-use in CO2 transport.

New Plans For A Boost In The Oil Production Of Saudi Arabia

The middle eastern crude oil giant Saudi Arabia is inspected to increase its crude oil production over the coming months to ten million barrels per day, forecasts recently Goldman Sachs.

According to Farouk Soussa, Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) economist at Goldman Sachs,
“We see risks to the oil sector as being significantly skewed to the upside.”

Why India cancels plans to privatise its pipeline network

India’s state-owned natural gas supplier and pipeline operator GAIL has decided to cancel plans to hive of its pipeline business. At present, GAIL owns and operates some 13,200 km of natural gas pipeline, which accounts for around 70% of the country’s natural gas pipeline network.

Long Delayed $9 bln Keystone XL Pipeline Project Has Been Cancelled By TC Energy Corp

On Wednesday, it was officially announced by its promoters TC Energy Corp behind the long delayed $9 billion Keystone XL Pipeline Project that it had been cancelled. This pipeline project, if completed, would have enabled the transportation of Albertan  tar sands to a Nebraskan pipeline hub, before onward transport by existing pipelines to Gulf coast refineries in Texas.

Approval of the Gulf Run Pipeline Granted By FERC

Oklahoma-based, pipeline operator and developer Enable Midstream Partners, announced on June 2, that it had gained FERC ( Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) approval to construct and operate a new pipeline, named the Gulf Run Pipeline. Approval was granted under section 7C of the National Gas Act.

Hostile Bid Raised By Brookfield For Inter Pipeline

A bidding war has started for the acquisition of Calgary-based Inter Pipeline Ltd. On Wednesday 2 June, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners made a C$8.48 billion ($7.02 billion) hostile bid for Inter Pipeline Ltd. This latest offer valued Inter Pipeline Ltd shares at C$19.75 which is C$3.25 above the previous bid by Pembina Pipeline Corporation.
