On Wednesday, it was officially announced by its promoters TC Energy Corp behind the long delayed $9 billion Keystone XL Pipeline Project that it had been cancelled. Oklahoma-based, pipeline operator and developer Enable Midstream Partners, announced on June 2, that it had gained FERC ( Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) approval to construct and operate a new pipeline, named the Gulf Run Pipeline. Approval was granted under section 7C of the National Gas Act.
A bidding war has started for the acquisition of Calgary-based Inter Pipeline Ltd. On Wednesday 2 June, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners made a C$8.48 billion ($7.02 billion) hostile bid for Inter Pipeline Ltd. This latest offer valued Inter Pipeline Ltd shares at C$19.75 which is C$3.25 above the previous bid by Pembina Pipeline Corporation.
