Genser Energy, a leading Ghanaian energy company, has officially commissioned a 110-kilometer natural gas pipeline at Anwomaso in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region to boost gas supplies in the region.

As reported by Modern Ghana news, the new pipeline is part of Genser Energy's larger 430-kilometer network being built across the country to provide a cheaper and more reliable energy source for Ghanaian industries.

During the launch ceremony, Genser Energy Board Chairman Okotwareasuo Osei-Nyampong VI announced that the project represents phase three of the company's pipeline network development, which includes five gas stations.

"Three of these stations are Block Valve Stations (BVSs) located at Miawano, Ntinako, and Adwafo," Osei-Nyampong VI explained.

"The remaining two include a Regulatory Point Station (RPS) at Gyegyetreso and the newly commissioned Branch Metering Station (BMS) here at Anwomaso."

Osei-Nyampong VI emphasized the project's aim to serve the Ghanaian people by providing affordable and dependable energy to the Ashanti Region and beyond.

He commended Genser Energy's continued support and investment in Ghana, pledging to collaborate with stakeholders in the energy sector to ensure a steady supply of affordable energy for the country.

In his remarks, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Overlord of the Asante Kingdom, underscored the project's significance.

"The commissioning of this expansive pipeline network carries immense socio-economic benefits for our nation," Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said.

"This pipeline will facilitate the delivery of cheaper gas for power generation, positioning Kumasi as a key hub for future development and job creation."

The Asantehene also commended the energy company for its tireless efforts to bring the project to fruition.
