APGA releases new Code of Environmental Practice

The Australian Pipelines & Gas Association has published an updated version of its Code of Environmental Practice for Onshore Pipelines.

Since the first release back in 1998 three revisions of the Code were published by APGA.

The Code of Environmental Practice 2017 containts guidelines on relevant topics regarding environmental management in onshore pipeline projects. It's content covers all stages of a pipeline's lifecyce, from the planning phase, asset acquisition and construction to operation and decommissioning. The code descripes main activities during these stages and the potential risks for the environment that can arise from these activities.

Pipelines play a significant role in the economic and environmental well-being of Australia and are therefore in need of substantial and accepted sets of rules for ensuring a safe and profitable operation.
