Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a construction conglomerate from India, announced on Monday, March 18, that its hydrocarbon subsidiary, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH), had secured a massive onshore gas pipeline project in the Middle East.

The project, valued between $603.5 million and $1.2 billion, will involve the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of two new 56-inch pipelines.

The pipelines will run parallel to an existing pipeline corridor and include associated scraper receivers, launchers, and mainline isolation valve (MLIV) stations.

"This is the largest cross-country pipeline EPC project awarded to us till date," said Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director and Senior Executive Vice President (Energy) for L&T. "We are excited to bring our expertise to this strategic project."

L&T’s win comes on the heels of another recent success for LTEH in the Middle East where the company secured an onshore and offshore order involving an enclosed ground-flare system, demolition of existing facilities, and offshore platform upgrades.

The company highlighted its commitment to building a strong regional presence through investments in local talent, procurement, and collaborations with local contractors. L&T aims to achieve this by establishing a sustainable workload.
