The Pipeline Transport Institute and Transneft Diascan have signed contracts for diagnostics (inspection) with Sonatrach, an Algerian state oil and gas company. In December, the documents were signed in the city of Algiers within the framework of the development of the provisions of the memorandum of Cooperation signed between Transneft and Sonatrach. The Memorandum was signed in October 2017 during the meeting of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister of Algeria Ahmed Ouyahia.

The contract considers in-line inspection of several sections of the Algerian company’s pipelines. Furthermore Transneft R&D signed another contract with Sonatrach for integrated diagnostics of lightning protection and earthing system for a loading terminal’s hydrocarbon storage farm.

The documents were signed in the presence of Sonatrach President Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour and Vice-President of Transneft Mikhail Margelov.

Sonatrach is an Algerian state oil and gas company. In terms of economic performance it is the biggest company of the African continent (across all industries). Sonatrach is engaged in oil and gas production, refining, sale and transportation, also investing in power engineering.
