In the wake of Iranian President Rouhani's visit to Italy this week, Saipem has announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning major pipeline projects in Iran.

The non-binding agreement, signed with the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), envisages discussions aimed at Saipem’s potential cooperation in NIGC large diameter pipeline projects - including Iran Gas Trunkline 9 (IGAT9) and Iran Gas Trunkline 11 (IGAT11) - which cover 1800km.

Saipem had previously signed a MOU with Parsian Oil & Gas Development Company, which concerns Saipem’s potential cooperation in revamping and upgrading the Pars Shiraz and Tabriz refineries.
