Gas Flows To Germany Resume in Nord Stream 1

Nord Stream 1 operator, Gazprom, has begun to ship reduced amounts of gas through Nord Stream 1 now that maintenance work has ended after a 10 day hiatus.  There was a collective sigh of relief from EU countries, as there had been concerns across the region that there could be a complete shutdown of gas supplies via the pipeline.

DNV Collaborates With PIL to Integrate Hydrogen into PIL’s Gas Network Asset in India

DNV, an independent energy expert and assurance provider, will collaborate with Pipeline Infrastructure Limited (PIL) to integrate blended hydrogen into PIL’s India-based gas trunkline asset, including transmission pipeline, spur lines and interconnect, compressor, valve, and metering stations and equipment.

Nord Stream 1: Russian Foreign Ministry Implies Gas Will Flow Once Turbine Is Returned

With Nord Stream 1 in the throes of its annual check up and Europeans wondering if gas transmission will resume after the final examination, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that the future of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline to Germany would depend on gas demand in Europe and Western sanctions against Russia.

Nord Stream 1 Shuts Down ~ Canada to Send Repaired Turbine

Today, 11 July, Gazprom will turn the spigot stopping all gas flows through Nord Stream 1 to Germany.  The reason, as explained last week in the PTJ, is Nord Stream 1's annual maintenance work that will last until 21 July.

Whither Nord Stream 1? Russian Gas Deliveries In The Fog Of War

From 11 - 21 July this year the Nord Stream 1 will undergo its annual inspection.  For this work, Gazprom, Nord Stream's operator, will stop transmitting gas through the line.  In past years these inspections went off without a hitch.  Not so in 2022.

Kinder Morgan To Expand Permian Basin Highway Pipeline

Against a backdrop of rising demand for natural gas across Europe (as well as a not irrational fear that all gas flows from Russia may be stop in the near future), Kinder Morgan, the American pipeline operator, has indicated that it intends to underwrite the expansion of the 689-km natural gas pipeline that brings natural gas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to export hubs around Houston.

Hydrogen Pipelines: the Netherlands "Puts Its Money Where Its Mouth Is."

With an ample investment of 750 million euros from the Dutch government, Gasunie, the Netherland's gas network operator, has been tasked with managing and operating a national hydrogen transportation network.

Parts of the network are due to be completed by 2026.

ExxonMobil, Neptune, Rosewood, and EBN Collaborate on L10 Carbon Capture and Storage

Turkey Lays the first Pipes to Begin Pumping Black Sea Gas in Q1 of 2023

Turkey has laid the first pipes for the undersea pipeline network to transport onshore natural gas from the Black Sea to help slash the country’s dependence on energy imports. The pipelaying exercise which took place, which took place on Monday, June 13, via a video link, was witnessed by The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Researchers from the University of Stavanger operate heat and electricity-producing micro gas plant in South-West Norway using the first-ever gas turbines. The gas turbine also supplies hot water for heating the laboratory buildings in the surrounding area.

Aboriginal People Sue To Stop Undersea Pipeline Project in Australia

Indigenous Australians are filing a lawsuit to stop Santos, Ltd., an Australian oil and gas exploration and production company, from developing the $3.6 billion Barossa gas project off the coast of northern Australia.  The traditional landowners said they were not consulted about the drilling activities.
