Oil and Gas Prices Remain Stable as Diplomatic Relations Fray between Qatar and Saudi Arabia

The Saudi - led group of countries severing diplomatic relations with Qatar today will have no significant impact on the price of oil, according to Alastair Newton, of Alavan Business Advisory in Livingstone, Zambia.

Newton said there is a large surplus on the supply side relative to the demand side and that this will continue to exert downward pressure on the price.

Toxic Waste Water Pipeline Bursts in Palatka, Florida

Some 3000 gallons of toxic waste water was released in Palatka, Florida after a power plant's above-ground dwaste water pipeline burst.

Environmental officials were able to contain the spill near the Seminole Electric Cooperative Plant and no damage was registered in the area.

Contaminated water pipeline scare in Tamil Nadu, India

Jawahar Nagar, a metropolitan city in Tamil Nadu in southern India, averted a significant health crisis this past week when residents were notified that water from compacted sewer lines had entered a drinking water pipeline. The timely response remedied the situation.

An underwater gas pipeline operated by Hilcorp Alaska LLC in Cook Inlet, Alaska is spewing as much as 310,000 cubic feet of methane into the marine habitat.

The leak is from Hilcorp's 8 inch offshore pipeline from Nikiski and located approximately 80 feet under the water. And it may have been leaking before discovery ever since December.
